Capitol Reef National Park – 2022

We headed over to Capitol Reef National Park after our stay at Bryce Canyon. We ended up staying for 3 nights – unfortunately there was a ton of rain recently so a lot of the roads to trailheads were closed while we were there. Either way, we managed to have a good time exploring what we could.

Our site at Beas Lewis Dispersed – the road in was pretty good and the views were spectacular!
On a walk up a forest road behind camp – empty of people and full of views

We really only spent a single day in the park. Early in the morning we drove the main road as far back as we could – the views were similar to those of Moab.

After our quick drive, we hiked up to the Hickman Natural Bridge. It was a beautiful morning for it – the hike was great. The parking lot was completely full by the time we made it back.

We also went for a hike in a slot canyon while we were in the area. This was a new experience for us. Next time we make back here we plan on exploring some more! Very cool. We also stopped by Kodachrome Basin State Park, this really reminded us of Moab.

3 days wasn’t enough time in this area, but we will be back one day! Next up, we head to Mesa Verde National Park.
