We headed up to Dumont Lake Campground outside of Steamboat Springs for the last weekend of July/start of August. What a bittersweet trip! In preparation for our new camping digs for 2022, this was the last weekend in the 2009 Chevy camper van we converted ourselves back in 2016.
On the way into the campground, we immediately noticed the abundant wildflowers blooming, and were greeted by a momma and baby moose. Start to a beautiful weekend!

Here’s the campsite we stayed in. Most of the sites were nice and spread out, but the ones in the middle were lacking shade. Ours was perfect, and we even had a nice spot tucked in the trees for our bug-net canopy.
The weather was perfect, nice and cool and hopped back and forth between overcast and sunny.
Saturday morning we set out for a ride. Andrea only went 4-5mi in, then back, but I went ahead and rode all the way into Steamboat Springs. This put my ride at around 25mi – and it was a blast!

We were lazy for the rest of Saturday, especially me. I was worn out from the long ride. We had an awesome camping weekend as always. A fitting end to our time with the camper van! Goodbye dear friend.
